Fareham Borough Council: Dan Wilden is pleased to have secured full planning permission for three detached houses, alongside an existing retained house, in Fareham, Hampshire.

The site lies on the southern edge of the town where we had previously secured outline permission for five smaller houses and which was about to expire. Rather than submit a reserved matters application, our clients decided to obtain full planning permission for a smaller number of larger houses. After the original application taking months, this time round it was very straightforward with the application approved well ahead of the 8-week target without any amendments necessary.

The main change from the previous application process was that this time around we had to contend with Biodiversity Net Gain. We successfully did this using Natural England’s Small Sites Metric Calculation Tool – demonstrating the necessary gain only through an increase in the garden areas.
