Dorset Council: Neil McKeon is delighted to confirm planning permission has been secured for a replacement 5-bedroom house in Ashley Heath, Ringwood.

The approval sees the demolition of the existing chalet bungalow and erection of a two storey family dwelling with substantially increased footprint in this much sought after location.

The site is located within the Avon Castle Special Character Area and must comply with the specific development criteria of SPG No. 27, as part of the Council’s assessment. Whilst this constraint ensures an advanced level of scrutiny to the proposal, the Council accepted the replacement dwelling. The proposal was approved by the Council on all grounds in relation to tree impacts, biodiversity, landscaping, building materials and the overall impact upon the character and appearance of the area.

The new dwelling is of the highest quality and represents a clear departure from the existing property. However, the new home results in a positive addition to Hurn Road and the Avon Castle Special Character Area.
