BCP Council (Bournemouth): Matt Annen is pleased to announce that he has recently secured full planning permission for the demolition of an existing house and the erection of 3 x four bedroom dwellings close to Southbourne in Bournemouth. This scheme was designed by local firm Anders Roberts Cheer Architects for a mutual developer client.

The application site had a lengthy planning history including appeal refusals handled by other consultants. One of the key considerations was the setting of two nearby Listed Buildings. Pure Town Planning prepared a robust heritage statement which noted that the revised proposals had been informed by the architecture of the listed buildings in order to positively contribute to their setting. The Conservation and Planning officers concurred and considered this revised scheme would be appropriate particularly noting the use of high quality materials like natural slate to reflect the sensitive architectural language of the local vernacular.

In addition the appointed officer noted improvements made to the sitting and scale of the current scheme when compared to recent refusals at the site. All the houses met the minimum space standards, each of the dwellings had ample amenity space to the rear and the scheme delivered a policy compliant parking arrangement.

If you have a house on a large plot, even if in close proximity to Listed buildings and would like to explore its potential, please contact Pure Town Planning on 01202 585524 or email info@puretownplanning.co.uk for a confidential planning appraisal.
