East Dorset District Council: Pure Town Planning are delighted to announce that we have recently secured full planning permission for the demolition of an existing property and the erection of three detached dwellings. The supporting plans were provided by local architects Anders Roberts Cheer.

The site is located within the Ashley Heath area of East Dorset. The existing property on site dates from the 1920s and is in a poor state of repair and the site largely overgrown. Unlike other properties along this part of Woolsbridge Road, the existing property was set over 30 metres back into the site, meaning the principle of backland development had already in part been established.

Pure Town Planning worked closely with the architect and client before the submission of the application to make sure that the existing character and appearance of the wider area would be maintained and where possible improved. This included ensuring the front boundary hedging would be retained, careful consideration of the local vernacular in terms of design and materials and ensuring the internal layout would give future residents a high-quality standard of living.

As part of the application submission, we prepared a thorough supporting Design, Access, and Planning Statement which set out the merits of the proposal in a clear and concise manner, whilst making it clear that the development was in accordance within adopted planning policies that support sustainable residential development.

Upon considering the application and supporting documents, the Council agreed with our conclusions and moved to grant planning permission for the development without seeking any changes to the submitted drawings. The client was delighted with the decision and is now preparing for the development of the site.
