BCP Council (Bournemouth area): Neil McKeon is pleased to have successfully secured full planning permission for three detached family dwellings in Glenferness Avenue, Bournemouth.

Followers of Pure Town Planning web posts will recognise the site where we secured permission for two houses back in May 2023. The revised application, located in the Talbot Woods & Meyrick Park Conservation Area, proposed the removal of the defunct tennis courts, to be replaced byf 3 x 5-bedroom houses, designed by David James Architects, for KLF Developments.

Two previous applications for residential redevelopment of the site were refused by the LPA in 2017 and 2018. Despite this planning history, a fresh planning strategy was devised to secure three high quality family dwellings on the site, as part of a two phase approach.

Given the site’s location within the conservation area and the previous objections to a three house development, extensive consultation was undertaken with Officers throughout the process – with the final design agreed with the LPA, much to the delight of the client. This approval heralds the revitalisation of this under-utilised site, creating new family housing in this much sought after area in Bournemouth.
