BCP Council (Poole area): Matt is delighted to announce that after a lengthy planning process he has secured planning permission for the renovation ahd extension of the existing Swan Inn on Poole Quay to create three commercial units on the ground floor, adding a new second floor and forming three flats on the upper floors. The scheme was cleverly designed by local firm Shore Architecture.
The Swan Inn is a Locally Listed building and the site falls within a conservation area and therefore, as well as the normal requirements to fully justify the scheme in terms of the principle of the change of use, impact on residential and neighbouring amenities and impact on highways and parking, Pure Town Planning also put forward a strong case for why the scheme respected the character and appearance of Conservation Area and locally listed building. During the course of the application, after a change in planning officer, following liaison with the new officer and submission of a revised set of plans we were delighted to receive the news that the Council could support the scheme.
