Winchester City Council: Dan Wilden is pleased to have secured a new office building for a specialist haulage firm based at a countryside site near Micheldever Station in Hampshire.

This latest approval follows on from a major upgrade to the site for which Pure Town Planning secured planning permssion almost ten years ago now (see our post here). The company now wishes to upgrade the rather dated office facilities of the site and sought consent for a new two storey office building on the site.

The planning officers initially had concerns that the proposed building was a bit “urban” for this countryside site and invited us to make amendments to the scheme. But the client, looking to invest in a building to serve the company for many years to come, was determined not to compromise the working environment and corporate image. So we stood our ground, sought the support of local Councillors and finally the planners decided that on balance they could approve the scheme. It took some time, but it was worth it to get the right building in the end.
