BCP Council (Bournemouth area): Neil McKeon is pleased to have secured planning permission  a rear extension, loft conversion, dormers and internal reconfiguration to accommodate 5 larger flats at a building on Pembroke Road, Bournemouth.

The existing layout comprosed a single ground floor flat and 4 first floor bedsits. The approved extended space allows for two 2-bedroom flats on the ground floor with a further three 1-bedroom flats on the first floor, one of which effectively becomes a duplex utilising the approved roof space conversion and associated side dormer. The approval also created a formal cycle/bin storage space to the rear of the plot, without compromising the frontage car parking.

The Council considered the proposed extensions and internal layout changes to be acceptable and would not impact neighbouring privacy or the character and appearance of the area – thereby approving the application and securing the newly proposed mix of flats on site.
