BCP Council (Bournemouth): Matt is pleased to confirm that planning permission has been achieved for alterations, extensions and a remodel, turning an existing chalet bungalow into a 2-storey house. The scheme was designed by ARC Architecture for a mutual client.

From registration to approval took just 7 weeks (one week under target date) which is extremely rare these days for BCP Council. Although the character of the area was mainly bungalows, the officer agreed that because the site was situated next to a two storey property and the design of the proposed dwelling was generally sympathetic to the traditional character of the area, the proposed increase in height and second storey addition would cause any adverse harm on the character or appearance of the surrounding area. Nor would it detrimentally impact on the residential amenity of any of the surrounding neighbours.
