BCP Council (Bournemouth): Neil McKeon is delighted to confirm full planning permission has been secured for a four-storey apartment building delivering 17 units with basement parking on Studland Road, Bournemouth.

Pure Town Planning submitted and managed the application, designed by Marlow Architects for Nylo Homes, for the demolition of two dwellings and the erection of an art-deco style apartment building.

The approval represents the culmination of extensive negotiations between Neil at Pure Town Planning, consultees and Council Officers to address all issues in respect to urban design, tree impacts within a woodland TPO, parking provision, amenity of existing and future occupants and the overarching relationship with the character and appearance of Studland Road. In addition, S106 Affordable Housing were instrumental in the viability appraisal, thereby justifying a zero affordable housing financial contribution on site.

Officer support and approval has been secured under delegated powers, which is extremely welcome news to the client and a thorough vindication of the planning merits of the proposal for all parties involved. This high quality design will breathe new life into the site, taking full advantage of this attractive location overlooking Alum Chine and within 350m of the beachfront.
