BCP Council (Bournemouth): Neil McKeon is pleased to announce the winning of an appeal challenge against BCP Council for alterations and roof extensions to a chalet bungalow on Southbourne Coast Road in Bournemouth.

The detached dwelling has a detailed planning history, with the latest application seeking to substantially alter the roof form to allow for additional 1st floor accommodation.

Following the refusal by the Council, the client contacted Pure Town Planning to assess the available options. Having reviewed the plans, the site history and the reasons for refusal, an appeal challenge was considered the most appropriate course of action.

A comprehensive appeal statement supported the challenge, which clearly set out the justification for the scheme. The statement established that the works could be comfortably assimilated into the streetscene without harming the character and appearance of the area. Furthermore, it was demonstrated there would be no undue harm upon the living conditions of neighbouring properties. The Inspector agreed with this assessment and subsequently allowed the appeal, to the delight of the client.

If you have received a refusal and would like to discuss a potential appeal, please call Pure Town Planning on 01202 585524 or email us at info@puretownplanning.co.uk for a free appraisal.
