BCP Council (Poole): Dan Wilden is pleased to have won a planning appeal and secured planning permission for the extension of an existing industrial building on the Nuffield Industrial Estate in Poole used for the servicing and repair of trucks.
The Council’s planning officer decided to prevent this local business expanding on their own premises as they felt that the extension would result in an overly prominent building which would harm the character of the industrial estate. Fortunately pn appeal the Inspector decided that this would not be the case stating:
I do not find that the appeal proposal would dominate views from within the surrounding area and, in my view, would not have an adverse effect on the established character and appearance of the area. The appeal scheme would result in a building and site that reflects neighbouring development in terms of siting, height, scale, materials, landscaping and visual impact. The spacious landscaped character of this part of the industrial estate would be retained. The design of the proposed extension would respect and relate to the existing host building and would maintain the site’s and appeal building’s details that contribute positively to local character.
If you have recently had planning permission refused why not contact Pure Town Planning to see if we thing a planning appeal would have a chance of success?
