Dorset Council: Dan Wilden is pleased to have won an appeal against Dorset Council relating to a residential property in the countryside at Broom Hill near Wimborne.
Planning permission had been sought for a series of alterations to the original dwelling but the Council had a particular objection to an extension which linked the house to an existing detached garage and added an additional floor in the roof space above the garage. Having obtained a seperate planning permission for the elements of the proposal which the Council were happy with, we advised the client to lodge a householder appeal against the refusal.
In our appeal statement we included a detailed study of the varied built form of the Broom Hill hamlet and locality which proved instrumental in the Inspector concluding that “the appeal scheme would remain subservient to the main dwelling and would not to my mind result in unacceptable harm to the relatively rural character and appearance of the surrounding area”.
If you have recently had planning permission refused, why not speak to Pure Town Planning about whether we think that you have a reasonable chance of that being overturned on appeal.
