Borough of Poole: Pure Town Planning are celebrating another successful planning permission, secured at Planning Committee, for the erection of a detached family dwelling in Lilliput, Poole.
The proposal for an eye-catching New England style dwelling was at first considered unacceptable by the Borough of Poole planning officers due to its architectural design and siting failing to respect the existing pattern of development and the overall character and appearance of Dorset Lake Avenue. Throughout the course of the application, rigorous consultation was undertaken between Pure Town Planning and the respective Officers. This extensive consultation included amended plans and detailed contextual analysis to comprehensively demonstrate how the chosen architectural style would not create any harm to the Dorset Lake Avenue street scene. Notwithstanding these efforts, the application was brought before Planning Committee with Officers’ recommendation to refuse.
PTP successfully delivered their deputation to the board members who then began their in-depth debate. The majority of members were highly impressed with the chosen New England architectural design and praised the design approach to the scheme. Members agreed with PTP’s summation (against Officers’ recommendation) that the chosen style would in fact compliment the already eclectic range of building styles throughout Dorset Lake Avenue. The proposed family dwelling was recognised as being a striking design which would become yet another positive addition to this architecturally vibrant streetscene, without appearing out of context with its neighbouring development and subsequently voted in favour of the application.
Following the approval, the applicant added: “PTP provided me with the perfect advice, support and guidance throughout the application to build a beautiful family home in Lilliput and secured the approval against Officers’ recommendation to refuse. Great team and the right result!”.
