In addition to completing its consultation on the Community Infrastructure Levy today, Southampton City Council has issued three new documents for a consultation period ending at midday on 23 March 2012. These consist of a proposed Partial Review of its adopted Core Strategy, a City Centre Action Plan and a City Centre Master Plan.

The new documents set out a vision for the City Centre over the next 20 years together with a framework for achieving the vision. The Core Strategy review seeks only to amend the existing Core Strategy by reducing the target for office space in the city centre based on the recent economic conditions. The aim is to increase flexibility in the City Centre to ensure viable development continues to come forward.
