It seems that Bournemouth Borough Council’s ambitions to adopt its Core Strategy this summer are being scaled back. They are expecting the Inspector’s report into the Core Strategy towards the end of this month or early next. The report into the Town Centre Area Action Plan will likely follow in another few weeks.

Apparently both documents are listed on the Cabinet Forward Plan for October – Cabinet is due to meet on 17 October. Now assuming the Inspector’s reports are received in good time and  he finds the two new policy documents sound with no more than minor amendments required and Cabinet approve the documents for adoption, they will need to go to full Council for final adoption. The next available full Council according to the published timetable is 30 October. Therefore this would appear to be the earliest available date for adoption if everything goes according to plan and there are no last minute complications. To be honest I wouldn’t put too much money on adoption on that date!
