Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council has published its pre-submission Core Strategy for a period of consultation running until Friday 23 March. The Core Strategy will guide development within the Borough for the next 15 years.
The plan proposes 594 new homes per year. Just over 3000 are on various allocated sites around the edge of Basingstoke including 1050 at Basingstoke Golf Course and 900 east of Chineham (yes next to the Whitmarsh Lane sewage works).
Following this consultation the document will be submitted to the Secretary of State for examination – this is expected to be September or October this year. The Council expects to adopt the Core Strategy early next year.
As ever Pure Town Planning are able to advise on the implications on forthcoming planning policies and can submit consultation representations on your behalf – just give us a call to find out if we can assist.
