Dorset Council:  Darryl Howells has secured a Section 73 application to vary the plans from a previous approval. The client approached Darryl, after discussing joint working on various planning projects, however this particular one was personal to him as being his own home at Corfe Mullen.  The original scheme permitted a detached house  with a traditional pitched roof design.  Whilst the client was pleased with the overall permission, the roof design was plain and lacked that wow factor.

As such he instructed  Darryl to try to secure the roof from he really wanted, one which would dramatically change the roof scape of the street scene. Darryl wrote a robust planning statement arguing the merits of the revised roof form and its impact upon visual amenities. Subsequently the planning officer supported Darryl’s position and the weight of his arguments.

Don’t accept plans which have been watered down by a planning officer – challenge such decisions and obtain that consent you wanted in the first place.  Let one of our consultants start that journey with you and obtain the planning permission you dreamt of, not the one that the planners’ allowed to have.
