BCP Council (Bournemouth area): Matt is pleased to have recently secured planning permission for alterations and additions including two additional storeys to form 4 self-contained flats with rear staircase, associated access, bin and cycle storage in Charminster, Bournemouth. The scheme was designed by Trinity Architecture for mutual clients Addis Homes.

During the planning process and following in depth discussions with the planning officer and internal consultees, the original design which included two more flats on the rear was reduced in order to address concerns raised in regards to a perceived overbearing and overshadowing impact which the officer felt led to an overdevelopment of the site. With the amendments made, thankfully the officer was able to put forward their favourable recommendation just before they left the Authority, meaning the process wouldn’t have to start all over again with another officer!
