Thanet District Council: Adding to the growing list of approvals further afield, Pure Town Planning have recently secured planning permission for substantial two storey extensions and a total remodel which will dramatically transform an existing house in Westgate-on-Sea in Kent.  The proposal converts the existing traditional home into a large, contemporary 3-bedroom family home with open plan living spaces, study and expansive external terrace areas and balcony space. The remodel takes advantage of this picturesque sea front location and has incorporated extensive ground and first floor terrace areas into the approved design. The approval represents a substantial departure from the existing, ageing house and will dramatically transform this residential site providing breathtaking sea views.

The bespoke design was prepared by architect Tony Holt Design who tailored the scale, layout and appearance of the scheme to fit with the context of the site whilst achieving the high level of floor space set out in the client’s brief, whilst also incorporating additional external terrace and balcony spaces improving the functionality and overall aesthetic of the house. Whilst the resultant property is larger than the existing house on the site, with constant contact with the planning officer at Thanet District Council we were able to  convince the planners that the proposal was not only acceptable in terms of the impact to neighbouring properties, but a beneficial visual addition to the prominent Sea Road streetscene.
