BCP Council (Bournemouth area): Neil McKeon is delighted to confirm planning permission has been secured to demolish an existing bungalow and erect two detached 4 bedroom family homes in Irving Road, Bournemouth.

The applicant approached Neil at Pure Town Planning, as well as LMA Architects (who designed the scheme) early this year to discuss development potential on this wider than average plot. A two house scheme was devised which complied with the Council’s Policy CS19 in respect to the loss of small family dwellings (given the existing bungalow’s floorspace of less than 140sqm). Following this concept stage, the application was submitted to BCP Council.

Pure Town Planning engaged with the Planning Officer throughout to ensure the scheme was acceptable in terms of siting, scale, impact upon neighbouring privacy and amenity, as well the relationship to the character and appearance of Irving Road. Following this productive dialogue with the Planning Officer, the application was approved with only minimal alterations to the submitted plans – a testament to the original design by LMA and much to the delight of the applicant.
