BCP Council (Bournemouth area): Matt Annen is delighted to confirm planning permission has been GRANTED for the erection of two detached family homes in the Muscliff/Strouden Park area of Bournemouth. This scheme was designed by Marlow Architects for our mutual client; Bayview Developments.

Following a previous refusal on the site by another set of consultants and architects, the design team worked up a revised proposal which took a more linear layout arrangement with revised access location. This was deemed to be more coherent and in keeping with the surrounding pattern of development. Additionally, gaps between proposed and immediate dwellings would reflect the immediate pattern, again overcome concerns with the previous proposal.

During the course of the application, some objectors raised concerns regarding the presence of badgers on site. Consequently, we provided a badger survey to address this perceived issue. The Council’s Ecologist was consulted and confirmed that the results of survey show that holes within the site are not currently used by badgers but by foxes, thereby overcoming this concern.

The application was approved earlier this week, much to the applicant’s delight. If you would like to discuss development potential of a vacant garden site with us, please contact Pure Town Planning on 01202 585524, or email info@puretownplanning.co.uk to see how we can help you.
