BCP Council (Poole): Neil McKeon is pleased to have secured full planning permission for the erection of a pair of detached 5 bedroom dwellings in Greenwood Avenue, Poole.

The application sees the demolition of the ageing existing dwelling which no longer fits the needs of the applicant’s family. The two spacious dwellings take advantage of the sloping gradient to create an additional lower ground level to maximise the floorspace with rear elevation terrace spaces to the living room and top floor bedroom.

The approved scheme, designed by LMA Architects, is the result of extensive consultation between Pure Town Planning and the Council Officers over the past few months, during which the application had no less than 3 assigned Planning Officers. Despite the initial delays, the most recently assigned Planning Officer got the application back on track and was receptive to the scheme – acknowledging in her report that these larger scale dwellings would not create a loss of light or privacy to neighbouring properties on Greenwood Avenue, Compton Avenue or Lilliput Road. Furthermore, the Officer was satisfied that the development would be in keeping with the character and evolving appearance of Greenwood Avenue, which has undergone a series of plot severances and replacement dwellings over recent years – thereby approving the application, much to the delight of the applicant.
