Dorset Council (former East Dorset District Council): Neil McKeon of Pure Town Planning is pleased to have secured planning permission for the demolition of a barn and outbuilding and erection of two detached dwellings in Three Legged Cross, Wimborne. Studio MODA Architects provided the plans as part of the application.

The application site is located to the rear of a residential property at 5 West Moors Road and creates an opportunity for infill development of 2 x 4 bed family dwellings. Throughout the course of the application process, Pure Town Planning engaged with Officers to ensure the proposal respected the pattern of development and the character and appearance of the area – with particular emphasis on the visual impact from the West Moors Road streetscene. On the eastern side of West Moors Road, dwellings are set towards the front of their plots in a similar position relative to the street as the proposed units.

A key aspect of the proposal was also taking into consideration the extant residential approval on land to the east of the application site, in respect of safeguarding respective privacy and amenity for all dwellings. The resulting scheme secured Officers’ full support – noting that the scheme represented a high standard proposal which takes the opportunity to improve the character and overall quality of the area.
