BCP Council (Bournemouth): Matt Annen is pleased to announce that he has secured another planning consent for padel tennis courts, this time for two covered Padel Courts at the Aviation Business Park, next to Bournemouth Airport.

Despite being next to the airport this wasn’t “plane” sailiing, we were only asked to take over as agents during the course of this application, as it was looking like the previous person had “double faulted” and the application was heading for a refusal. Matt stepped in and provided an “ace” “service” preparing a robust supporting planning statement followed by regular “returns” of email “back and forth” with the planning officer, overcoming the concerns raised in respect of the principle, loss of employment, highways, security and flood risk. Matt is not one to “boast”, but he was “rally” happy to have successfully addressed the concerns and secure the “win” for the client. Now the “ball is in their court” to take it from consent to construction.

In arriving at her favourable recommendation the planning officer recognised the scheme as a small-scale leisure facility that complimented the working population in the business park. The officer also noted the considerable number of “supporters” with 74 letters being received highlighting the benefits of exercise, wellbeing, community, and the fact that the covered courts means year-round play.

This approval highlights the “advantage” of having a firm of Chartered Town Planners “in your corner” and now makes it the third planning consent Matt has secured for padel tennis courts, he’s swiftly becoming the go-to Padel Planning Person!
