BCP Council (Bournemouth): Neil McKeon is pleased to confirm planning permission has been secured for a top floor extension to the existing mixed-use, end of terrace building on Christchurch Road for three new residential apartments.

This planning permission follows a recent consent on site (also secured by Pure Town Planning) to convert the ground floor office into a shop with 2nd floor extensions to create two flats with roof terrace amenity area.

Given the prominent corner location of the application, extensive consultation was undertaken between Pure Town Planning and the respective LPA Officers – with assistance from Harriplan who designed the scheme. The consultations with Officers focused on ensuring the newly proposed top floor addition was of appropriate scale and bulk to avoid appearing overbearing or out of keeping with the existing terrace when viewed from both Christchurch Road and Heathcote Road.

The approval delivers additional residential accommodation in this highly sustainable location, whilst also allowing a much needed opportunity to secure a betterment to the existing building in terms of bin/cycle storage and amenity areas, without creating any harmful impact upon neighbouring privacy or outlook.

If you have a commercial/residential property which may have potential for extensions to maximise floorspace, then please contact Pure Town Planning on 01202 585524, or email info@puretownplanning.co.uk for a confidential appraisal.
