BCP Council (Bounemouth): Dan Wilden is glad to have recently secured planning permission for a side extension and loft conversion at a residential property in Southbourne, Bournemouth. The scheme was designed by Decade Consultancy Ltd.

Our client approached Pure Town Planning following a refusal of a proposal, interested in the prospect of an appeal. We advised that an appeal would not be the most beneficial course of action due to it appearing overly modern and not fitting the character of the area. However, we thought an amended application may be a more advisable solution.

We worked with the client to amend the scheme into a form that we believed the planning authority may prefer. We also provided further justification for the side extension on grounds that something very similar could be built under permitted development. In the course of the application, we stayed in close contact with the planning officer and with a couple of minor alterations the scheme was deemed acceptable.

If your planning permission has recently been refused, why not speak to Pure Town Planning and find out whether we would advise that an appeal is the best course of action or if you should take a different route.
