North Somerset Council: Pure Town Planning recently secured planning consent for a pair of semi-detached retirement dwellings at a site in Portishead just to the west of Bristol.
The main issue here was highway safety with a previous application reaching stalemate with the Highway Authority on the issue of whether the proposed parking would interfere with the operation of the shared access. On this new application the issue was resolved by losing parking spaces and re-configuring those remaining. The reduced parking was successfully agreed on the basis of the dwellings being age-restricted retirement dwellings. Planning permission was granted with the minimum fuss within the standard target date.
