Borough of Poole: Pure Town Planning are delighted with our recent approval on the edge of Poole Park Conservation Area for the demolition of the existing two flats on site and the erection of a pair of semi-detached houses. The scheme in Twemlow Avenue  was designed by DOT Architecture.

The proposed building was purposefully designed to have the appearance of a single dwelling with the front elevation featuring one front door and one bay window. As such, to the casual passer-by there would be no indication that the building serves two self-contained residential dwellings.

The design is contemporary with large fenestration openings and balconies to allow views  but refers to the more traditional inter-war houses in the vicinity in terms of the roof form and the inclusion of a bay window.

Due to the design of the proposal, the Council considered the subdivision of the plot will not be overly apparent within the streetscene and that the traditional roof form would be reflective of the wider streetscene avoiding any lasting harm.

Upon considering the application and supporting documents the Council agreed with our conclusions and moved to grant planning permission for the development under delegated powers much to the delight of the client.
