BCP Council (Poole): Chris Miell is thrilled to announce that he’s secured his first planning permission since re-joining Pure Town Planning as an Associate Director in August.

Working with local architects Anders Roberts Cheer, Chris has secured planning permission for a replacement dwelling in Lilliput. The dwelling will provide a new family home for our client which will benefit from panoramic views of Poole Harbour and direct water access.

The design and appearance of the new dwelling has informed by traditional buildings within the local area and draws influences from New England style architecture. The new dwelling has traditional proportions and design features such as exposed rafter feet and bay windows. Externally, the building will feature high-quality materials including natural stone, timber cladding, slate tiles and timber sash windows. These factors contribute to a high-quality and visually pleasing development which will respond positively to the character and appearance of the area.

During consultation period, a number of objections were submitted by local residents who expressed concerns about the scale and positioning of the new dwelling and the impact of the development upon neighbouring amenity. Chris reviewed the comments and submitted a comprehensive rebuttal statement to the Council, which made clear that the proposal would have no adverse impacts and was in full compliance with the development plan. The Officer agreed with Chris’ assessment of the main issues and full planning permission was granted within the target period.
