Dorset Council: Dan Wilden is pleased to have recently secured planning permission forĀ  a replacement building for the seasonal sale of fireworks in the green belt adjacent to the A31 between Ferndown and West Moors in Dorset.

Our client currently operates from two old wooden buildings and a series of containers and the use has been ongoing long enough to have become lawful. As part of the process therefore we were required to demonstrate this by obtaining a Certificate of Lawfulness.

Even with this in place things were not straightforward with issues including green belt openess, flood risk, trees and biodiversity. The application was called in by a local councillor which meant it had to go to planning committee just before Christmas. Luckily the committee members were pursuaded that the proposal was acceptable replacement for the existing structures and planning was therefore approved.
