Canford Cliffs planning consultants PooleBorough of Poole: Pure Town Planning are delighted to have secured planning consent for the demolition of an existing house and the erection of two 2000 sqft detached family dwellings in the desirable area of Canford Cliffs Village in Poole.

Plot splits (in this case “two-for-one”) on this particular road had not been viewed particularly favourably in the past by the Borough of Poole. However Pure Town Planning had recently secured a similar “two-for-one” scheme on a nearby site. By pointing a number of other recent changes to the built environment out to the planning officer we were able to successfully demonstrate that the scheme would sit comfortably in the street scene (despite the flat roof contemporary design of one of the houses) and with the surrounding built environment, thus not adversely affect the character or appearance of the area.

Canford Cliffs planning consultants BournemouthSo the planning officer was happy from a purely planning point of view however given the heavily treed nature of the site, the Council’s tree officer had a number of objections on the grounds of impact to roots of protected trees and pressure to fell. Matt was not going to let this issue get in the way of his planning permission! He liaised with our client’s tree consultant, Andy Scott of Scott Tree services who after a number of emails backwards and forewords, a meeting on site with the Council’s tree officer and the provision of additional information, managed to get the tree officer onside and remove his objection. With this hurdle overcome the planning officer was happy to make a favourable recommendation to her team leader and the decision was signed off and planning permission was granted earlier this week.
