BCP Council (Bournemouth area): Neil McKeon has secured planning permission for a new dwelling to the rear of Methuen Road in Bournemouth.

The scheme, designed by ARC Architecture, sees a plot severance of land to the rear of a flatted block at Chloe Court and the erection of a chalet bungalow with associated access and parking.

Following a previously refused application in 2020, the applicant approached Pure Town Planning to take a revised application forward. In conjunction with the architects, we worked closely with the Officers at BCP Council to ensure against any harmful impacts to the amenity of residents to the flatted building to the site frontage and also ensuring parking provision is fully policy compliant. This consultation process resulted in Officers’ satisfaction that the proposal would be only glimpsed from Methuen Road and would not harm the character and appearance of the area.

Whilst the proposal utilises the rear land to create a new dwelling in a sustainable location, it also delivers an overall betterment to the site through improved car/cycle parking to service the occupants to the existing block.

If you have a plot with potential for rear of site development which needs professional assessment, then please call or email info@puretownplanning.co.uk for a free appraisal.
