BCP Council (Poole): Darryl Howells has secured a non material amendment for the installation of a new roof terrace with handrail on the roof of a 6-storey building to be constructed near to the current Civic Centre, and opposite Poole Park.

Darryl presents a robust argument that the installation of the roof terrace did not have any consequence, substance or significance which are the three tests of whether a non-material amendment is permissible or not.  The submission of a non-material amendment application is not the subject of public consultation and the timescale is significantly faster than the normal 8 weeks.

The approval of the handrail and roof terrace will enable the residents of the 80 unit flatted development (previously secured planning permission by Darryl) with unrestricted vistas of Poole Park and the harbour beyond and will become an important area of amenity.

If you have a redevelopment and you want to improve it without incurring a revised planning application, then speak to a Pure Town Planning consultant, who may be able to suggest an alternative approach.
