Borough of Poole: Pure Town Planning were asked by the new owners of the Bermuda Triangle Pub (known locally as “The BT”) to assist them with their improvement plans for the premises.  The improvements consisted of a first floor outdoor seating area, installation of external stairs leading down to a ground floor, roped off raised terrace area as well as other elevational changes. We are delighted to report that planning permission was received early this week.

During the progress of this application, the Borough of Poole planning officer initially had reservations over whether the terrace and balcony areas may generate additional noise and disturbance from its elevated position. However Pure Town Planning provided a strong rebuttal detailing that the distance to neighbours would alleviate this issue. There have been a number of refused proposals for decked areas in the locality,  however again we were able to successfully justify that the enclosed paved seating area located to the side of the building would maintain the sense of spaciousness around the site. As such, the planning officer agreed that the seating area would not have a prominent appearance. The premises is undergoing a refurbishment as part of the improvement programs and we can’t wait to see the new look!
