BCP Council (Poole area): Chris Miell is thrilled to announce that he has secured planning permission for an infill dwelling in the Whitecliff area of Poole.

The site is located to the rear of an existing dwelling at the corner of Pottery Road and Mill Lane. The proposed development will deliver a four-bedroom chalet bungalow in a sustainable location with associated access and parking, which will form part of the Mill Lane streetscene.

As part of the application, we worked closely with architects Lionel Gregory Architects to prepare the scheme. Prior to submission we undertook a design review and put forward several design changes which improved highway safety and the living conditions of future occupiers.

In addition, we prepared a thorough planning statement in support of the application, which set out the merits of the proposal in a clear and concise manner, showing to the LPA that the additional dwelling would not be out of character or harmful to the existing streetscene along Mill Lane.

The application was approved by the Planning Officer without any amendments during the 8-week target period. In assessing the proposal, the Planning Officer concluded within her report that “The massing and design will preserve the character and appearance of the area as there is a variety of dwelling types. The design of the proposals has clearly been carefully considered in light of its relationship with neighbours and its plot size with the positioning of windows, and single storey rear projection. The dwelling would sit comfortably within the site.”
