Dorset Council (former East Dorset District Council): Jess Glover is delighted to announce that she has recently secured full planning permission for the demolition of the existing garage and the erection of a new detached dwelling at a site in Alderholt. The supporting plans were provided by local architect Robert Rodway.

The site is located on a corner plot and therefore benefits from a larger than average plot for the immediate area and boundaries along both Ringwood Road and Earlswood Drive. As such, the applicant sought the assistance of Pure Town Planning to facilitate the erection of a new house for a relative in the ample garden space with vehicular and pedestrian access off Earlswood Drive.

Pure Town Planning worked closely with the architect and client before the submission of the application to make sure that the existing character and appearance of the wider area would be maintained and where possible improved. This included ensuring the boundary hedging would be retained, careful consideration of the local vernacular in terms of design and materials and ensuring the internal layout would give future residents a high-quality standard of living without detrimental impacts to neighbouring amenities.

As part of the application submission, we prepared a thorough supporting Design, Access, and Planning Statement which set out the merits of the proposal in a clear and concise manner, whilst making it clear that the development was in accordance within adopted planning policies that support sustainable residential development.

Upon considering the application and supporting documents, the Council agreed with our conclusions and moved to grant planning permission for the development, only seeking minor changes to the submitted drawings. The client was delighted with the decision and is now preparing for the development of the site.
