Bournemouth Borough Council: After a long battle with the Council, Pure Town Planning have secured planning permission for a complete overhaul of a previously approved scheme for a block of 14 luxury apartments on Boscombe Overcliff Drive.

The approved scheme which was the subject of this Material Amendment application was actually a revised scheme of a consent which dated back over 10 years. As a result the design style was very dated. Under this application the appearance of the new development was totally modernised and the floor areas to each flat were slightly increased. The dated architectural design of the extant approval was overhauled and replaced by a contemporary architectural style that drew influence from the surrounding area and brought the appearance of the building into the 21st century.

The previous scheme utilised buff brick and uPVC windows  whereas the new scheme now has a combination of grey aluminium panelling and sand and cement render painted white with grey powder coated aluminium windows and a single ply membrane roof with aluminium fascia. The balconies to the front of the development were also enlarged and bounded by seamless structural glass balustrades. Overall the scheme will have sharp, diagonal lines to give the principal elevation of the building a striking and architecturally interesting appearance.
