Ashley Cross Poole garden grabbingBorough of Poole: Pure Town Planning have just secured a planning consent for a detached four-bedroom dwelling in the popular Ashley Cross area of Poole. The site was formed by the second subdivision  of a back garden. A few years since the media widely publicised ‘the end of garden grabbing’, Pure Town Planning are proving that with the right scheme, on the right site together with a well prepared and executed planning application, development on garden land is still perfectly possible.

This application is a classic example of how having a pro-active planning consultant acting for you can help you to achieve a successful outcome. During the progress of the application Pure Town Planning met the Borough of Poole case officer on site and liaised regularly with the planning officer to the point that three days before the decision we were informed that the application was due to be approved. So you can imagine our surprise when on the morning of the decision, the case officer contacted us and told us that the Planning Team Leader had overruled her and that the application had to be refused.

Not accepting “No” for an answer Matt sprung into action, contacted the Team Leader, negotiated what alterations could be made to enable the scheme to be approved, liaised with Union Architecture who had designed this magnificent high quality contemporary dwelling and arranged for amended plans to be submitted by lunch time…. Ian, the architect reacted swiftly and we were able to meet the deadline which allowed the application to be approved by tea time!

If you are wondering whether your garden has any development potential, then why not give us a call and we can pop out to see you free of charge and provide you with honest, realistic advice on the likelihood of achieving planning permission for a spot of ‘garden grabbing’ at your property.
