BCP Council (Bournemouth): Matt Annen is pleased to announce that he has recently secured planning permission for the demolition of an existing bungalow and the erection of a block of 5 flats with associated parking near Castle Point in Bournemouth. The proposal was designed by Dot Architecture.
Whilst a well-presented application with comprehensive Design and Access Statement was submitted to the Council, the appointed planning officer did raise initial concerns. However though strong negotiation and some amendments being made to the plans, we were able to convince the planning officer that the size and proposed number of units and the scale, layout and appearance of the building would be appropriate to the context of the site and would not introduce any harmful impacts on the character or appearance of the area or amenities of neighbouring residents.
