Dorset Council (Former East Dorset District): Dan Wilden is pleased to have secured planning permission for a extensions and a remodel of a house in Ashley Heath to plans by Marlow Architects.
The main issue in this case was prior to registration with the Council requiring a bat survey of the existing house despite the most minimal change to a shallow pitched roof – unforunately the request coincided with the peak holiday and ecology surveying season so it was difficult to get done quickly! Fortunately there were no issues discovered with bats here.
Once the application was up and running everything went very smoothly and it was approved without any need for amendments – testament to a well thought out design and well presented submission.
