BCP Council (Poole): Dan Wilden is pleased to have finally secured planning permission for alterantions to a house in Poole to convert into a larger Sui Generis 7-bedroom House in Multiple Occupation (HMO).
Some applicaitons, despite being seemingly straightforward turn into absolute epics and at over a year this permission was certainly a long time coming. The application had three different planning officers. Unfortunately a number of errors by one of these resulted in various delays (beyond the usual grinding progress). One such delay was that right towards the end of the process new site notices had to be put up and a new consultation period undertaken because the previous planning officer either didn’t put them up or didn’t keep any record of doing so. They had also given the wrong amounts of financial contributions in the Section 106 agreement which resulted in a second agreement having to be signed (not easy with a reluctant mortgage company). It was the diligence of the third and final planning officer which discovered the above issues, plus asking for some new alterations to the plans, but we do have to be grateful for them pushing forward to get the the application over the line.
