BCP Council (Bournemouth): Neil McKeon of Pure Town Planning is delighted to have have successfully secured full planning permission for an eight-unit residential development in Glenferness Avenue, Bournemouth.

The scheme, designed by Symmetry Architecture, sees the demolition of the existing dwelling and the erection of a two and a half storey block of 8 flats in the Meyrick Park and Talbot Woods Conservation Area.

PTP worked extensively with the Council throughout the process to ensure that the building incorporated specific design features more reflective of the inter-war buildings of Glenferness Avenue. The impact of the proposal upon its neighbouring flatted developments and the street scene were of key importance and negotiated at length with the Council’s planning officer. The resulting development for Nylo Homes secured the planner’s support in all respects, with the scheme acknowledged as enhancing the character and appearance of the conservation area with a high quality and respectful development.
