BCP Council (Poole): Matt Annen, director of Pure Town Planning has recently secured planning approval for two flats at in the Newtown/Canford Heath area of Poole.

The approved scheme, designed by The Plan Partnership for our mutual client Bournemouth and Poole Estates, improves upon a previous consent on site back in 2017 for a bungalow which remains extant due to the Government’s extension of planning permissions in light of Covid 19.

The officer noted that the site was located within a sustainable transport corridor and therefore the principle of residential development was appropriate. The scheme was approved without any alterations as the officer considered the new building sensitively integrates with surrounding properties, would not appear overly prominent when viewed from any public vantage points, would provide adequate living conditions and outdoor amenity space to occupiers of the proposed flats and would not give rise to unacceptable levels of overshadowing, overbearing or loss of outlook to the amenities of neighbours.

If you have recently had a planning approval and are wondering whether there is potential for adding more units to maximise the development potential, why not speak to Pure Town Planning for a free of charge, confidential planning appraisal.
