South Somerset District Council:  Darryl Howells has secured planning permission for an existing client of a scheme that enabled alterations, rear extension and the change of use of existing public house to a convenience store on ground floor with a residential unit on first floor with associated access and parking.

The scheme following an extant permission which Pure Town Planning had previously secured for this particular client. The revised application sought to amend the plans to regularise various alterations including amendments to the doorway and air conditioning equipment.  Once the planning application was registered, the officer highlighted some general concerns regarding potential noise disturbance and ownership enquiries.  The client supported by Darryl overcame each of those concerns, and the scheme was subsequently granted planning permission under the officer’s delegated powers.

If you have a commercial unit and want to consider alternative uses either those potentially being permitted development or those requiring planning permission, then please contact one of our consultants for a free no-obligation quote to ascertain the options available to you.
