BCP Council (Bournemouth area): Neil McKeon has successfully secured planning permission for alterations, extensions and conversion of a former language school to 8 residential flats in the Old Christchurch Road Conservation Area of the town centre.

Whilst the Council initially objected to retaining the existing parking to the site frontage – opting for a zero parking provision – through on-going negotiations with the Planning Officer, a compromise was met which secured 3 parking spaces with additional landscaping to the frontage to create a betterment to the building’s contribution in the conservation area.

As the language school had been vacant for some time, with the practice relocating elsewhere in the town centre, the residential conversion of the 4 storey building into 8 flats (designed by ARC Architecture) sees the rejuvenation of the building providing 1 and 2 bedroom flats in this highly sustainable town centre location.
