BCP Council (Poole): Matt Annen is pleased to have recently secured planning permission for the erection of a contemporary 6500 sqft, four-storey super home perched on the Canford Cliffs clifftop with breathtaking 180° panoramic views over Bournemouth Bay.

This one-off, statement home was ingeniously designed by @marlowarchitects. This contemporary masterpiece will feature:

  • Four luxurious bedrooms all with en-suites, walk in wardrobes and external terraces.
  • An internal swimming pool with separate plunge pool and sauna/steam room
  • A state of the art gym, games room with pool table
  • An integral lift to all floors
  • Large kitchen with a separate prep kitchen and the all important wine room
  • Expansive living space with full height glazing leading onto a large terrace perfect for entertaining and designed to make the most of the endless sea views.

In arriving at her favourable recommendation in just over 3 months, the officer concluded that the scheme would have acceptable impacts on the character and appearance of the area on the basis that the roof height broadly followed the pattern of ridge heights within the locality, with the proposed roof only being minimally higher than the neighbouring buildings, meaning it would not look significantly out of character. The fourth floor would also be significantly inset from the third floor, which would reduce its dominance in the street scene. The office also agreed that the scheme would have no significant detrimental impacts on neighbouring amenities and would create more than acceptable living conditions for future residents.

If you are thinking of embarking on a bold building project whether that be via a remodel or full replacement, we’d be happy to assist you with achieving planning permission for your dream home.
