BCP Council (Bournemouth area): Matt Annen is delighted to announce that he has secured planning permission for the demolition of an existing building containing 3 flats and the erection of 15 flats on Boscombe Overcliff Drive, near Southbourne in Bournemouth.

This stylish, contemporary building was stunningly designed by ARC Architecture, for clients Juno Developments and Harbourwood Homes and delivers 15 luxury flats set over five floors, with balconies, gardens, cycle and car parking. It followed a previous planning consent, approved by planning committee for 13 units over four floors which Pure Town Planning secured just before Christmas last year.

During the lengthy dual planning process we were faced with a number of hurdles; objection from the heritage officer on grounds of loss of the existing building and impact on the adjacent bowling green, drainage and cliff stability comments which needed addressing, justifying the increased scale and altered design in the context of the impact on the street scene and surrounding neighbouring amenity and overcoming access, car parking, cycle storage and bin storage arrangements issues.
