Twyford Hampshire change of use approved planning consultant WinchesterSouth Downs National Park Authority (Winchester City Council): At Pure Town Planning we take on work of all sizes and often the small jobs can be just as satisfying as the bigger ones. We recently helped secure consent for a client just down the road from our Hampshire office in Twyford, Winchester. There had been some difficulty previously with the conversion of an old builder’s workshop building to a mixed use office and chiropractors clinic. The main difficulty surrounded the lack of parking – the building has none. Winchester City Council agreed that change of use to B1(a) office was permitted development and so our client had obtained consent just for the external alterations he wanted and made the lawful conversion to an office for his family business. But our client’s wife still wanted to run a chiropractic clinic from part of the building so he approached Pure Town Planning to see if we could get the change of use approved.

With a carefully written supporting statement and some discussions with the Winchester City Council highways officer we were able to persuade them that the proposal would not have an unacceptable impact on highways through on-street parking in the area. Planning permission was duly granted.
