Poole Borough Council: Pure are at it again! This time we secured approval for the conversion of existing office space into four studio flats and one, 2 bedroom flat (5 flats in total) under the prior approval permitted development system for B1 to C3 with plans prepared by Anders Roberts Cheer architects.
Many are expecting that this permitted development right to be extended for a further three years, at the time of writing Pure Town Planning would advise that the prior approval system for B1 to C3 Use is still due to end on the 30th May 2016. This cut off point means that as written the change of use must have occurred before this date – if applied strictly this means any conversion must not only be completed but the flats/houses must be occupied by this date as well.
Unlike a full planning application, a prior approval application for B1 to C3 can only be considered on flooding, contamination, highways and transport issues. Furthermore, the local authority must make a decision on applications such as these within 56 days.
